Green Smoothies
We already talked about the lack of appetite in Tip 2 but here’s how to solve this problem while also getting those greens in. Have a guess how to get in a lot of vegetables…
Right! The green smoothie hype is still very prominent and I definitely support this. I find it a lot easier to drink my meals when I’m sick and this is also a great way to get in a lot of vitamins.
A lot of people are literally afraid of green smoothies and I can relate to that.
Here’s a fun fact: I love green smoothies nowadays but after I tried my first green smoothie it took me one whole year to even get close to another one. My first experience was awful and I really want to spare you that. That’s why I created this easy formula which helps you to make a green smoothie fast and easy. Start slow and then work your way up.
Beginners: 3 parts fruit & 1 part vegetables
Start with something neutral like spinach or lettuce.
Advanced: 2 parts fruit & 2 parts vegetables (50/50)
Experiment with whatever you’ve got at home and find your favorites.
For the brave: 3 parts vegetables & 1 part fruit or go all in
Here’s the best tip I received so far: always add a sour and a hot component. For the sour one you can go for lime juice or cider vinegar. Ginger is great to add the spiciness.
What’s missing here? Protein of course! That’s why I like to add a protein shake to my smoothies. I also love to stir some linseeds in for extra fiber and those good fats.
