I know that everybody preaches that you should eat very very ripe bananas – but sorry that’s not my thing. They are a lot sweeter, that’s why you should use them for the first desserts. It doesn’t really matter with the other two. I personally love bananas that are still a bit green. I could come up now with the explanation of the glycemic Index and blood sugar, but I will talk about that in another blogpost. Just use whatever you like.
You probably heard of this. It is very simple but you need to find out the best preparation. There are two options:
1. Cutting the bananas, freezing and then blending them with some milk of choice. This is the easier way. The problem is that not every blender has enough power to do this. Lucky you, if you got one.
2. Cutting the bananas, blending with some milk of choice and freezing. Blend the bananas first and put them in the freezer. Here’s what’s very important if you want ice cream instead of a big ice cube: You need to stir the banana ice cream every 30 min 3-5 times depending on how frozen you like it. If you don’t do this you will get a big banana ice cube. You need to break up the ice crystals in order to get a creamy consistency.
This is so delicious and it’s a perfect alternative for unhealthy ice cream. Nevertheless, I’m aware (though I kind of deny it) that summer is over and people may not want that much ice cream anymore (can’t understand this – ice cream is life).
Cut the banana lengthwise and put them on a plate. Marinade them in honey. Sprinkle cinnamon and almonds on top.
I know that honey has loads of sugar but I’m a big believer in the curative effect of honey. That’s why I have a teaspoon every day in whatever variation.
This is just the best snack to snuggle up in your bed with a tea and a good book. Yes, I can see this tumblr scene right in front of me 😉
I always start with slicing the banana and putting them into a bowl. The next two steps involve a lot of stirring, so the slices should break naturally into crumbles.
Add a big teaspoon of peanut butter (raw, unsalted, unsweetened…) to the banana and stir. Then go with 2 heaped teaspoons of coconut shreds and stir again.
You can enjoy this with some yoghurt but I just eat them instantly like this.
(Option: Substitute the peanut butter with melted bitter chocolate.)
I hope you like these little snacks. Let me know in the comment’s section below.
See you soon!
